Just Checking In — with Bryanna

A series of catching up with friends, near and far.

It’s been a while.

The last few months have been full of big transitions and winding roads, but I’m so excited to finally share this sweet Journal entry with you — originally from April 2023.

Bryanna is the sweetest pal, who has the warmest presence both online and in real life. She shares snapshots of her life in a uniquely authentic and intimate way, and is always inspiring me to create, explore, and play more. From relaxing adventures at the beach, to exploring new creative mediums, you can find Bryanna on Instagram, TikTok, and her Substack newsletter. I hope you enjoy this special feature! More coming soon <3

What’s your favourite morning bev?

Decaf coffee in a percolator, with a very generous spoonful of honey.

Describe your style in 3 words:

Comfortable, Minimal, & Functional

What is your uniform outfit?

Right now it’s my vintage camo pants I found on ebay, a white tank, big cozy hoodie, and my super-birkis! I am a simple woman.

“I find my walks in nature super meditative. They help me practice gratitude and I love seeing the slight changes in native flora each day of Spring.”

A song/album you have on repeat:

I’ve cried to Gracie Abrams’ album Good Riddance at least twice a day lately omg haha.

What keeps you grounded?

Spending time in the park- I find my walks in nature super meditative. They help me practice gratitude and I love seeing the slight changes in native flora each day of Spring.

Fav meal to make at home?

Udon noodles with tofu, broccoli, bok choy, and a sweet-chili peanut sauce :)

How do you find inspiration?

I find most of my inspiration through my sweet pals that surround me (you included!). I think the more I can relate to something/someone, the more it inspires me.

What’s one recurring theme in your life right now?

An abundance of free time does not equate to having an abundance of free energy.

One little moment that brightened your day recently?

I saw my first ever pink fawn lilies! They were magic and I smiled about them all day long.

What are you currently reading/watching/listening to?

📻 I am a creature of habit so I am re-listening to the audiobook of Braiding Sweetgrass, highly recommend as Robin Wall Kimmerer narrates it, and her voice is like honey! I have also been listening to the Drama Queens podcast about One Tree Hill haha, it’s so great.

Fav vintage item you own?

I thrifted this brown leather bomber down in Portland that I’ve worn nearly every day since. It feels like butter.

Thanks for checking in. <3
